Investigation after disabled passengers left off flight
30.08.11
An investigation has been launched by Edinburgh Airport after six disabled passengers were left stranded as their flight took off without them, the Scotsman reports. The passengers were told they would only be allowed to board the easyJet flight to Belfast once able-bodied passengers had taken their seats, but when the queue disappeared, an airline agent told them the flight had left.
A spokesman for the airport said: ‘We are very disappointed at the treatment of these passengers. We will be conducting an urgent investigation with the organisations responsible [airline and their ground services partner] to understand exactly what happened and to try to ensure it does not happen again.’
