After investing £3m in new vehicles, Lothian buses have revealed the newest fleet of high spec buses are due to hit the highway as part of the Airlink service this week. The brand new fleet of top of the range buses offer a host of fantastic features including free Wi-Fi, mood enhancing lighting, power points for passengers to plug in lap tops or phones, CCTV cameras, plus the upholstery is made out of recycled leather.
Lothian Buses say the introduction of the 14 new £200,000 double-decker buses will make their fleet one of the best in Scotland. The company is also planning to add screens at bus stops displaying bus timetables and tourist information such as a listing of hotels and attractions in the area.
The introduction of the new fleet comes after Edinburgh Airport revealled that they have beaten their goal of getting 26% of passengers to use public transport. Figures revealed recently showed that 28.7% of passengers travelled to the airport on public transport.
