Cimber to launch Copenhagen flights
21.01.09
Edinburgh Airport will regain its link to Copenhagen from the end of March when Cimber Sterling launch twice weekly flights on the route, Business Travel World reports. The route was previously served by Sterling before it went into administration at the end of 2008. Last month, Cimber bought parts of Sterling.
Gordon Dewar, managing director of Edinburgh Airport, told the business travel website: ‘We were disappointed at the demise of Sterling at the end of last year, and welcome the new airline's commitment to restore this important link. The Scandinavian market is important for business and tourism, and we hope that this new route will strengthen the market and deliver more choice for passengers.’
Jørgen Nielsen, CEO of Cimber Sterling, added: ‘We look forward to bringing Copenhagen and Edinburgh even closer together, and we hope that both cities will benefit from this new connection.’ One way fares, including taxes and charges, start from around £25.
