Around 145,000 passengers are set to jet out of Edinburgh Airport over the Christmas and new year period (weather permitting !), ABTA said yesterday. Those seeking the sun are heading for Spain, Dubai, Turkey and Florid, whilst Geneva is the most popular destination for winter sports fans.
ABTA said the busiest pre-Christmas days for travel this year are today and next Thursday. Around 1.5 million passengers are set to leave from Heathrow, 700,000 from Gatwick, 370,000 from Stansted, 323,000 from Manchester, 250,000 from Luton, 138,000 from Birmingham, 70,000 from Newcastle, 101,000 travellers from Glasgow and 48,000 from Aberdeen.
