Glasgow's boss moves to Edinburgh

The man who managed Glasgow Airport through last year's terror attack is to take over the reins at Edinburgh Airport. Gordon Dewar, 41, is to start his new role in September, making him the third person in the post in 18 months. Amanda McMillan is to take over as managing director of Glasgow Airport.
Mr Dewar, who is from Edinburgh and only joined BAA in February last year, will take over at Edinburgh from David Johnston, who is moving to a group role within BAA, as group procurement director. Mr Johnston, was in the airport role for less than a year having taken over from Richard Jeffrey, who had been in the post for 6 years.
Before joining BAA, Mr Dewar worked for transport consultancy group Halcrow and worked on was creating the Edinburgh's road traffic greenways. In a statement he said: 'Having been born and brought up in Edinburgh and spent most of my working life in the capital, I am looking forward to returning home to manage Edinburgh Airport, which is crucial to the capital's future.'
