Passengers up at Edinburgh and Aberdeen, but down at Glasgow
13.12.11
Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports both enjoyed rises in passengers numbers last month, but at Glasgow passengers fell.
Edinburgh recorded a 3.2 percent increase in passengers to 642,100 in November, whilst Aberdeen saw a 16.1 percent jump to 262,500, as it continued to benefit from a runway extension that has seen airlines launch new routes. Glasgow reported a 2.5 percent fall in passengers to 473,000.
BAA blamed part of the drop on weather disruptions, and also on the strike by UK Border Agency staff, which saw airlines cancel flights and operate planes with fewer passengers.
