Two new bidders suggested

Arcus European Infrastructure Fund and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), the owner of Gatwick and London City airports, are both planning to bid for Edinburgh Airport, the Scotland on Sunday reports. They are the latest names to be linked to what could be a hotly contested bid battle for the airport, which has already attracted interest from US private equity firm Carlyle Group, with a pair of Scottish business leaders who are pulling together separate consortia.
Earlier this year Arcus acquired Forth Ports in a deal worth £746m. Its European Infrastructure Fund 1 has more than €2 billion of commitments from 40 institutional investors. Aviation analysts are also 'convinced' that GIP will make an offer despite earlier suggesting that it would not be interested, the newspaper adds. UK airport operator MAG may be interested too.
