Operation nets cigarette smugglers

Customs officers seized nearly 80,000 cigarettes in an operation at Edinburgh Airport. Officers from the UK Border Agency arrested four men during the operation on Wednesday.
The men were stopped by authorities when they arrived at the airport on a flight from Fuerteventura via Madrid. A search of their luggage revealed cigarettes with an estimated street value of £18,000. After questioning the men were charged with the illegal importation of cigarettes.
