Flyglobespan report big demand for next summer's flights
11.08.08
Flyglobespan says that it has bucked the downward trend in passenger numbers by selling tickets 14 months in advance, the Scotsman reports. The budget airline, which flies from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, put flights to European destinations on sale last Wednesday for bookings until October next year at this year's prices.
The airline has said the uptake has been 'overwhelming', with customers buying the flights in twice the numbers they did in the first 2 days of sales last year. Travel agents are also snapping up the flights to sell on to customers as package bookings with hotels and cruises, the newspaper reports.
Summer flights to destinations such as Palma and Malaga went on sale on last Wednesday, and Flyglobespan has been amazed at how many people have booked them already. Chief executive Rick Green said: ‘Our customers know that to get the widest choice of low fares and availability, they need to book early.’
