Airport supports school environmental project

Edinburgh Airport has donated £10,000 to a scheme which will see school pupils plant 500 trees and learn about offsetting their carbon footprints. The airport is helping Trees4Scotland and its Tree Amigos environment project with children from 4 primary schools - Cramond, Kirkliston, Clermiston and Gylemuir - in the capital.
The youngsters will plant the trees in Teaghlach Wood in Perthshire and will find out how trees can lend a hand offer protection to the environment. Neil Anderson, business director at the airport, said: We're dedicated to playing our phase in addressing climate change, both locally and at an industry level. For example, our new £40m departure lounge extension will use of energy efficient lighting fixtures, and every effort will be made to cut back energy and water use, minimise waste and promote recycling.’
