Man in court over gun on plane claim
03.05.08
A man appeared in court yesterday accused of committing a breach of the peace on an aircraft by pretending that he had a gun. The flight was held up on the runway for an hour on Wednesday whilst police were called and he was removed from the plane.
Vytautus Gulbnacius, 25, of Sinclair Road, Aberdeen, pleaded not guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to putting cabin crew and passengers on board a Flyglobespan flight from Edinburgh Airport to Egypt in a state of fear and alarm by claiming to be in possession of a gun. A trial date was fixed for August and Mr Gulbnacius was allowed bail.
