Fears raised over BA Heathrow flights
01.07.08
Fears have ben raised that the number of British Airways flights between Edinburgh Airport and Heathrow could be cut, the Evening News reports. The newspaper says that the current shuttle service is under threat because of pressure on landing slots from the more lucrative long-haul flights at Heathrow.
With the slots trading between airlines for tens of millions of pounds, sources in the aviation industry told the Evening News that BA is looking to cut back on the 11 daily return flights it operates between Edinburgh and Heathrow before the end of the year.
However, a spokesman for the airline denied it had plans to cut services between Edinburgh and Heathrow, but said routes were under constant review.
